Accomplishments Don't Come Easy

Accomplishments Come with Adversities and Perseverance
Perseverance can mean a lot of different things to different people. But for me it means to be able to get through adversities we come across through in life like death, cancer, and other tragedies or problems most people face in their lifetime. Most people do end up persevering through adversities they come across with, but some adversities are too unbearable and some people just can't persevere through them.
Losing to Win - Problem Solution
The girls in the video Losing to Win had many adversities in their life. One of their problems was that a lot of their parents were alcoholics, drug addicts or in prison. This was a big problem because they all had bad influences and didn’t really have someone to look after them and for them to look up to. One possible solution was the school these girls went to. The school was really beneficial for them because it helped them keep out of trouble, they had their own family and they also had people to help them with whatever they were going through at their dwelling. This solution also had it’s drawbacks, for example some of the girls parents will never change and even though the school was a solution for most of the problems it wasn’t for all of them. As a result, these girls are becoming better people and growing up knowing that they have someone to go to. These girls never gave up, they had a lot of problems at home and they never gave up, they kept trying their best despite how many times they lost.
Eleanor Roosevelt - Sequencing
Eleanor Roosevelt was The First Lady and wife of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. But she did much more than just being the First Lady, after tragedy struck of her family she helped her husband through it. She was a very eloquent person and she never faltered while giving a speech. Growing up her life was rather sad. She was teased and called “ugly duckling”, and her parents wanted a boy instead of her. First her dad, the person she loved the most was unfortunately an alcoholic and went to live in a sanitarium. Then her mom died when she was only 8 years old. Next her brother also died. And after that her dad sadly died. This was very hard for Eleanor because all of this misfortune happened within 18 months. But the hardest death of all was her dad’s because he was the one she loved the most. All this especially her dad’s death made a huge impact in her life and the first two years were really hard for her. Later Roosevelt dedicated her life into helping others. But not long after she fell in love with her fifth cousin, Franklin Delano Roosevelt. On March 17, 1905, Eleanor and Franklin got married. Following the next year she had her first child on May 1906 and then during the next nine years she had five more kids. But then she had another drawback when one of her six kids died when he was a baby. Years passed and in 1921 tragedy struck again for Eleanor. Her husband was paralyzed. But that wasn’t it 1932, her husband Franklin was elected President of the United States of America. But Eleanor did more than just being the First Lady. She also spent some time working in charity kitchens and she visiting slums. She also took on some of the jobs that the president could not do because of the disaster. On April 12, 1945, Eleanor got the worst phone call of her life. Her husband had died.
Carry On - Compare & Contrast
Leroy Sutton and Dartanyon Crockett are two boys who have had a very tough life growing up but, for different reasons. They are alike because both of them had challenges they had to face every day and they helped each other get through them. Another thing they have in common is the strength they have. They faced things every day that most people wouldn’t have to go through in a lifetime. But on the other hand, they are also different because Leroy got both of his legs amputated after he was in a terrible train accident and Dartanyon is legally blind. They are also different because they each face different challenges every day. Leroy can’t walk so he has to learn how to do everyday things a different way and Dartanyon is legally blind so he had to learn how to tell people apart by the shape of their shadows. Although they each have their differences they are two people you wouldn’t see everyday working together. These are some similarities and differences between Leroy Sutton and Dartanyon Crockett.

Perseverance of Others
In order to overcome adversities that people come across through in life, you don't need very much. Everyone from the paragraphs above had one thing in common. They were all determined to achieve their goal and they were all willing to climb over any bumps that came across they way in order to persevere. In order to persevere through any adversities you need determination because with out it, there wouldn't be anything pushing you to your goal.
