Have more than you show, speak less than you know....
During the faculty meeting last week, our opening was on teamwork. We heard from several of you that WE CANNOT do this important work alone. Teamwork involves the balance between having MORE than you show, and speaking LESS than you know. Having the ability to listen at least two times more than you speak regardless of your position, height, experience, or ego.
In order to be the best we can ALL be, consider your willingness to collaborate on a daily basis, offer your input and ideas, and LISTEN to the ideas of others before dismissing them. Look for opportunities to say, "I learned something new", "thank you for sharing", and "let's try it" instead of the opposite.
Happy belated and almost Birthdays!
