Dear Families,

As I begin my sixth year as principal of Butler Elementary, I can honestly say this was the smoothest start to a school year I have ever been a part of. Our staff is one of the BEST in this region and we are very proud of our students and families. Speaking of proud...........

Recently, the Ohio Department of Education posted grade cards for school districts. I am very proud to report that Butler and Bellville Elementary received 18 out of a possible 20 STARS!!! After researching other elementary schools in our region, we were one of three elementary schools to earn 18 out of 20 STARS; which was more than any other school!!

The breakdown:

Achievement 4 out of 5 STARS

Progress 5 out of 5 STARS

GAP Closing 5 out of 5 STARS

Early Literacy 4 out of 5 STARS

If you would like to learn more about the state report card, you may click on the following link:

Although educating our children has been a challenge since March of 2020 when the pandemic started; our teachers and support staff were able to help our children grow, close gaps, and achieve their highest potential!

We appreciate your support of Butler Elementary! GO COLTS!!!!

K-2 Literacy Meeting

Monday, October 3rd at 6:30

We will be hosting an early literacy informational meeting for all parents of students in

kindergarten through second grade on Monday, October 3, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Butler cafeteria. At this meeting, we will be discussing how students learn to read, ways you can help your child on their literacy journey, and how our staff will be supporting all students as they learn to read. Additionally, we will share with you some signs and symptoms of little-known visual problems that could impact the way your child is learning. Whether your child is already reading or is having some difficulty, there is great information for everyone at this meeting. Please mark your calendars and we will see you there!

Parents are asked to pay school fees in August. Elementary fees for the school year have been set at $65.00 for each student; this includes a $15.00 technology fee. This is reduced to $55.00 if paid by September 30. A payment schedule can be arranged for families who may experience difficulties in paying all of the fees for their children at one time. Please see the building principal if you need to arrange a payment schedule. Fee waivers may be obtained for families who qualify for free lunches or who have children on Medicaid cards.
