Say Cheese! School Pictures on Thursday

Students will have school pictures on Thursday this week! Forms will be coming home on Monday. Students can bring their form back or you can order pictures online at www.inter-state.com/order and use the code 39576VB for Washington Middle School. Attention 8th Graders

21st Century Scholar applications need to be turned in to Mrs. Harrelson in room 38, which is required to be turned in by Tuesday in order to go on the field trip.

Citizenship Field Trip on Tuesday

Students who earned Citizenship for the first quarter and turned in their field trip form and money will be going on a field trip on Tuesday, November 5th. A sack lunch will be provided for each student. However, students are welcome to bring their own lunch. Students can wear Washington spirit wear, khakis, and tennis shoes.

6th Grade will be visiting U of E and the Ford Center for the U of E Girl's Basketball game

7th Grade will be visiting Ivy Tech

8th Grade will be visiting University of Southern Indiana

Chess Club Reminder

Chess club is be meeting every Tuesday after school until 4:30.

WMS 's Red Ribbon Week is in the books

Teenpower would like to thank the students and staff for helping make our 2019 Red Ribbon Week a memorable one! Remember, "Your future is key so stay drug free."

Medicines at WMS

The EVSC Policy states that all medications (including ibuprofen, Midol, Advil or any other over-the-counter drug) must be turned in to the school nurse with a parent permission form. You are welcome to send a bottle of ibuprofen, etc to school for use as needed as long as it it housed at the nurse's office with a signed permission slip. Any medication found on a student will be taken for parent pickup. Permission forms are available in the main office or you can contact our school nurse, Mrs. Peaugh, at 812-477-8983. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Bullying Report Form

We take incidents of bullying very seriously, however, we cannot support your child if we do not know. If your child comes home complaining about a student who repeatedly says things, touches them or harasses them on social media, please make sure to report this to Mr. Meyer or complete the form below. In order for us to be able to prove "bullying," we must have documented incidents to show that it's "repeated." In order to ensure that your child doesn't also get consequences, encourage them to report these incidents, talk to our social worker or counselor, or visit Ms. Hawkins in Regulation Station rather than respond verbally or physically. Cool Weather Items

Type: hoodless sweaters or hoodless sweatshirts, vest, zip up fleece, softshell or cardigan worn with a collared button down or polo shirt underneath

Colors: any solid color


Logo: small manufacturers logos are acceptable; school logos are permitted


The following is unacceptable at WMS and will not be allowed:

· Unnatural hair colors (bright red, burgundy, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink or purple)

· Body piercings, excluding ears. Earrings that pose a safety hazard or that are disruptive in nature

· Visible tattoos

· Skinny style pants, stretch pants or tight fitting clothing

· Hats or head coverings inside the school

· Cell Phones, large purses, gym bags, backpacks, backpack style purses, and drawstring bags must be kept in students’ lockers from 7:30am to 2:30pm.
