New Member Services Librarian!
Please join us in welcoming Diane Lebrun to the RILINK team. Diane has been teaching in Burrillville, for over thirty years. She was an elementary and middle school classroom teacher before beginning her library career in 1997. Diane has worked in a library/media capacity at all levels, from Pre-K through high school. She has served on many local and state committees in various capacities and leadership positions throughout her career and was recognized as Burrillville’s Teacher of the Year twice. It is with great pleasure that we welcome her to RILINK.
Diane will be assisting us in a limited capacity until the end of the school year, at which point we will have her completely onboard.

RILA's Intellectual Freedom Committee to track RI challenges
From RILA's IFC: The Intellectual Freedom Committee would like to inform the RILA community that we have created a form of reporting material challenges and other forms of censorship that are taking place in Rhode Island. This will allow the committee to track the censorship happening in RI so that we can be better informed on how to help. We will also report the data to ALA's Office of Intellectual Freedom if the respondent chooses, so those facing book bans and other censorship attempts can report to the state and national library organization using only one form. The Intellectual Freedom Committee encourages any librarian, library staff member, or educator to report any incident of attempted censorship happening at your institution, no matter how small, using this new form. The link to the form can be found in the Intellectual Freedom Committee's webpage, linked below.
