SCHOOL NEWS

A NOTE ABOUT OUR INTRAMURAL PROGRAM

KP Families,

When middle school sports programs were cut from the budget, the intramural program was created to provide active opportunities for students to participate in recreational sports/games. Recognizing our diverse population and student interests, we have also included a few non-sport options in our offerings.

Decisions regarding continuing intramural activities are based on attendance (at least 10 students regularly attending) and balancing our offerings (between sport and non-sport offerings and including new offerings). While an activity may no longer be included in our intramural offering, students can reach out to an adult adviser to supervise a club activity. We also welcome parent volunteers to support student interests.

For questions/concerns/ideas about our KP Intramural program please contact Marty Keena and for interest in volunteering please contact Joy Wright.

Parent/Guardian Conferences

Conferences are underway. Official conference dates are Wednesdays, March 4th and March 11th from 1:45-4:00pm and on Thursday, March 12th from 1:00-3:00pm. Students will be dismissed at the regular time at 1:30pm on Wednesday, March 4th and March 11th. On Thursday, March 12th, students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.

If you have not scheduled a time to meet with a teacher and desire to do so, please contact your child's MA teacher or Team Leader.

HELP SUPPORT OUR KP SPRING FUNDRAISER

Yesterday, order forms were handed out to students for our yummy spring fundraiser - Butter Braid pastry sale! These hand-braided frozen pastries come in six delicious flavors: Apple, Strawberry Cream Cheese, Blueberry Cream Cheese, Bavarian (Boston) Crème, Cinnamon, and Caramel Rolls.

The fundraiser will run two weeks form February 26-March 12 and delivery will occur on March 31st. Thank you for supporting our efforts.

Monday, March 2 will be a special day in the KP library. We will celebrate Read Across America, a day where 45 million readers young and old pick up a book to celebrate the birthday of the beloved Dr. Seuss. This year, during Learning Labs, students are invited to come to the Library to read and ENJOY a cup of hot chocolate!
