Parents, Family Members and Students:


We are beyond excited to welcome our students back to campus on Wednesday, August 10.


As parents and guardians, we ask that you provide an email address to the school and check it daily; communicate daily with your student about academics and school climate; and monitor any and all social media they use.


To stay updated on L.C. Swain important information and events, please be sure to follow our social media, check out the Stallion Community Folder on our school's website www.LCSwainMS.org/Swain, and read our newsletters. It is our goal to keep you as informed as possible. That, in turn, will help to make you and your child's experience a great one here at L.C. Swain Middle School.

DRESS CODE & UNIFORM SALES

Shirts are on sale NOW!


Shirts can be purchased ONLINE through school cash and picked up at the main office 48 hours later.

Shirts can be purchased IN PERSON Monday-Thursday from 9-11:30 & 1-3. We are accepting Cash or Check only and request that you bring the exact amount.


**Academy uniforms will be available for purchase online only, starting later this week.

Dress Code

All students are required to be in Dress Code while attending school. If you need assistance with dress code, please contact your grade level office.

REGISTER TO RIDE THE BUS

If you live outside the walking area of our school you may be eligible for a bus. To ride the bus you MUST register. Visit your student portal at www.mysdpbc.org and click on Register My Ride. If you address is incorrect in SIS you must update it before being able to register.

All students will receive supply lists from the teachers on the first day of school. Below are SUGGESTED SUPPLIES that most teachers will ask for. Students will receive a detailed supply list from all teachers on the first day of school.

STUDENT REGISTRATION

L.C. Swain is currently registering students for this school year. For more information, please visit Registration Information or email Evelyn.Rodriguez@palmbeachschools.org


Current students do not need to Re-Register. However, please make sure your contact information is up-to-date. Visit www.LCSwainMS.org/UPDATE to let us know of recent cell phone or email changes.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: AUGUST 10th

We are excited to welcome students onto campus on AUGUST 10th.


All students, walkers, bus riders and car riders, may enter campus no earlier than 8:15 AM on August 10th. Students may print out their schedules from SIS, take a photo with their phone, and ALL students will be provided with a copy of their schedule in their first period class. Parents will not be allowed to escort students to class. First period class locations will be posted throughout campus, and adults will be available to assist students in any way.


Beginning August 11th and throughout the remainder of the year students will not be allowed entry to campus prior to 8:40 AM.


8:40 - Campus is Open & Breakfast Begins

9:15 - 1st Period Begins

3:58 - Staggered Dismissal Begins


Parents Picking up Students: Please be patient and remain in the car line. During the dismissal process, for safety purposes, parents are not to park in the parking lot as students will only be dismissed to the car line. The first few days do take a little longer than usual.

STALLION LEARNING ZONE: BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM

The Stallion Learning Zone is a FREE academics-based program, open to students in all grade levels, that focuses on helping students improve their knowledge within Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies through small group tutorials. Beginning on August 15, students who are part of our Stallion Learning Zone may enter campus at 7:45 AM. Students must pre-register for the Stallion Learning Zone and must be on campus early to participate and learn. Information on this program and how to register can be found at www.LCSwainMS.org/SLZ.

CLUB STALLION:AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

Club Stallion is a free program open to students of all grade levels. STUDENTS MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND. The program begins August 15th and is held Monday through Thursday after school from 4:05 PM - 5:30 PM. More information and registration forms can be found at www.LCSwainMS.org/Afterschool.

WHERE CAN I FIND MY SCHEDULE?

Although schedules are not available at this time, students will be able to view their schedule in their Student Portal PRIOR to the first day of school.

Click on the SIS tile.


Please note that schedules viewed in other platforms may not be the most up-to-date schedule so please ONLY use the schedule posted to SIS.


We will notify students when the schedules are posted via phone call, text, and social media post.


ERRORS WITH SCHEDULES: We encourage all students to do a schedule check, meaning that all students should have 6 classes which include a Math, Science, ELA, & Social Studies class. Schedule changes will not be made at this time, but you may email the school at LCSwainMS@palmbeachschools.org if you see an ERROR in your schedule.
