Arrival & Dismissal Plan

Justin Elementary 2022-23

Big picture

Safety First!

There are several options for your child to get TO and FROM school. While the staff works hard to be efficient, SAFETY is the number one reason behind our arrival and dismissal routines.

- Parents can WALK students up to the school in two locations; the front entrance and up the sidewalk through the ballpark to the bike rack. Parents may not cut through the playground or up to the door at the South Entrance of the building due to traffic patterns and no crossing guard.

- Parents/Guardians may walk their child to class for the first three days. After that, JES staff members are posted in each hallway to greet students, answer questions, and help them get safely to class!

Tardy Bell - 7:40 am.

At Justin Elementary School, every classroom participates in Morning Meeting from 7:40 - 8:00 am. If your child arrives after 7:40 am. then he/she will need time to put away their backpack, coat, lunchbox, etc. before joining the circle for Morning Meeting. Even as adults, we know that being late can be a stressful start to our day so please set routines the night before to ensure a smooth transition to school the next day.

The doors will close at 7:40 am, so if you arrive in the car line after that time, please drive around to the front of the building to drop off your child. Our counselor, Mrs. Aiduck, is a great resource if you want ideas or need help with morning routines.

No Cell Phone Use in School Zones from 7:00 am. - 4:00 pm. is strictly enforced by Justin PD.

Ride Changes - Deadline 2:00 pm.

If you need to change the way your child will be dismissed from school, email JustinElem@nisdtx.org by 2:00 pm. The 2:00 pm. deadline is in place so that office staff has adequate time to get the changes communicated with classroom teachers before dismissal. Starting 2022-23 school year, NISD is requiring all ride changes through the email and will not be accepting ride changes over the phone, unless it is an emergency. Thank you for understanding!
