Spring Testing Information - Updated April 29, 2021
STAAR EOC
May 4 - Algebra I
- Only Algebra I students will need to report to campus for the administration of the Algebra I EOC.
- This EOC will be conducted on paper, however all students will need to bring their fully charged chromebook and charger to school in order to access their calculator.
- All other students will access that day’s learning asynchronously (at home).
- There will be make-up tests for the Algebra I EOC. Please contact your alpha counselor if this will be a need for your student.
May 5 - Biology
- Only Biology students will need to report to campus for the administration of the Biology EOC.
- The EOC will be conducted online, so all students will need to bring their fully charged chromebook and charger to school in order to access the test on their testing day.
- All other students will access that day’s learning asynchronously (at home).
- There will be make-up tests for the Biology EOC. Please contact your alpha counselor if this will be a need for your student.
All testing will be done on campus, in person. Please know that not participating in End-of-Course exams (EOCs) for high school courses does have implications for students since, under current law, students are required to perform successfully on EOCs to meet graduation requirements. Although many students may have future opportunities to take EOCs prior to graduation, we believe that it is important for students to participate in EOCs at the conclusion of the course.

STAAR EOC Testing Day Protocols
For Algebra I and Biology...
Arrival:
Doors will open at 8:30 am.
Once inside the building, students will either stay in the cafeteria to eat breakfast or go straight to their testing room location. Staff will be available to help direct students to their testing rooms.
Students are expected to be in their testing rooms by 8:50 am. Testing will begin at 9 am.
Students who arrive after 10:30 am will not be allowed to test on that day due to the limited time remaining in the school day, and will need to schedule a retest with their alpha counselor for later in the testing window.
Testing:
Students will remain in their testing rooms until the campus testing window is completed (approximately 1:15 pm).
This is a 4 hour test. Therefore, we will break for lunch after the conclusion of the testing period. Lunch will take place in the classroom as students will be socially distanced just as they would be in the cafeteria. Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Sack lunches will also be available to purchase in our cafeteria.
Dismissal:
The Algebra I and Biology EOC are timed tests with an anticipated completion time of 1:15 pm. No students will be dismissed from their testing rooms until the testing window closes for the campus.
School@Home students that walk or car pool may be dismissed from campus upon completion of testing for the campus (approximately 1:15pm).
Parents who are picking up their students will need to park in the parking lot (not in the carpool lane) and wait for their students to be dismissed.
Students who need to ride a bus, will need to stay in their testing rooms until 4:15 pm.
Students who will take the Plano West Athletics shuttle will be released from their classroom at 3:22 pm to get on the bus.
All students will be expected to re-engage, online, in an enrichment activity after the completion of EOC testing on campus.
- Face-to-Face students will conclude their test in their assigned classroom, and will stay in the same classroom for the remainder of the day after testing. School will be dismissed at 4:15 pm as usual.
STAAR EOC Safety Protocols
Students will be expected to adhere to class and school-wide protocols that are consistent with CDC guidelines.
All students will be able to enter the building starting at 8:30 am.
Masks are required upon entering the building and throughout the school day.
