Egg Harbor Township High School
WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 6, 2020
Greetings,
With the end of the first week of remote learning, I once again welcome all our teachers, staff, and students to the 20/21 school year. I believe our teachers are ready and willing to create the best learning environment for our students. As a District, we are committed to following our district mission to embrace our students and families and build relationships. We want our students to be engaged in the learning process and prepare each day to be a part of their own learning and of course, give your children the best education possible.
Please know that the High School building is open daily from 7:30 -3:00 and administration and secretaries are available to serve our community with anything they need. Also, the High School web page is the best place to find information. Our welcome back video/presentation has the remote schedule and attendance information that you should know so feel free to view it as often as you like.
The High School administration and staff were excited to see students and parents coming to book distribution. If you missed the pick and still need to retrieve books, please call the high school main office so we can make arrangements for you to come to the building and get the necessary materials to be successful.
Let’s continue on the right path as we move into the school year. This week we have worked out the kinks and are now ready to move forward and have a great year. With the week ending on September 11, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this momentous day in our history. Take time to hug your family today and know what a great country we are in. We may be in some trying times right now, but we are still a free nation. I remember watching the twin towers come down 19 years ago when America was attacked. The outpouring of patriotism was a feeling I can never forget, where we all stood together to comfort each other. I think of those first responders, much like in today's pandemic, who go to the front lines and put their lives at risk to help all people. While I am proud to be an EHT Eagle, I am also proud to be an American. So I leave you this week with this tribute to 9/11. We got this EHT! Let’s have a great weekend and another amazing week! #ehtpride

I wanted to share some more information about what our CS students did over the summer:
Two of our current seniors Julie Chen ('21) and Samantha Phung ('21) interned at the FAA.
The program held by the FAA was the Gateways Summer Internship for high school students. Students were assigned to selective branches under the Aviation Research Division at the FAA. Alongside the tasks that their managers assigned to them, the students were able to attend PMO workshops, take a wide variety of courses including an Introduction to Aviation and Aeronautics, and participate in other soft skill training workshops.
EHTHS class of 2020 graduates Nathan Ho & Alexander Nouragas also participated in the program.
