Welcome back Lakeland Ridge families,
My name is Jeff Huculak and I am honored to serve as the principal of Lakeland Ridge School. I would like to welcome everyone to a new school year! For those families that are new to Lakeland Ridge, welcome to our pack!
I hope you all enjoyed your summer and had an opportunity to rest and relax with friends and family. Lakeland Ridge office staff have been back in the school for the last couple of weeks. Teachers and Educational Assistants will be returning to school tomorrow and Monday to prepare for the new school year. Prior to the start of the school year, teachers will be contacting parents to let them know which class their child will be in. Grade 7s and new junior high students will receive their timetables during our orientation on Monday, August 29 at 2:00 pm. Grade 8 and 9 students will receive their timetables on the first day of school.
School will begin on Tuesday, August 30 for all students in Grades 1-9. Kindergarten students will have an opportunity to attend in small groups for a short period of time to begin the year. Kindergarten families should have received information about their child's orientation day in June.
We will be sending out weekly updates every Friday and these updates will be placed on our school website as well. Just a reminder that we have changed our Bell Schedule (see below).
I look forward to a wonderful year working with students, staff, parents, and the entire Lakeland Ridge School community.
Sincerely,
Jeff Huculak M.Ed.
Principal

Junior High Orientation
This year we will be hosting a junior orientation for all grade 7 students along with any new grade 8 or 9 students on Monday, August 29 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Families may arrive between 1:45pm - 2:00pm. To keep numbers as low as possible, we ask that only one parent/guardian from each family attend. We recognize that parents may be unable to attend and therefore students can attend on their own. Parents may also drop their child off and pick them up at 3:00 pm. The orientation will begin promptly at 2:00 pm with a staff welcome and short presentation in the Mukluk (small) gym. Following the presentation, students will meet with their cohort class where they will receive their timetables, locks and lockers, and a tour of our school. Teachers will be in their classes and will be available to answer any questions students may have.

Parking Lot
During the last two years, staff from Children Services have not been in the building, so visitors may have been using their parking spaces. Now that they are working in the building again, please remember to use the Visitor Parking only. Vehicles in the Government of Alberta spots may be tagged and towed. We will also have one additional bus picking up and dropping students off. This bus will park along the west side of Cranberry Way. Strathcona County will be installing signs shortly. As always, students are encouraged to use the crosswalks in the parking lot and when crossing the street. Visitors are asked to drive slowly and follow the Traffic Management Plan below. Thank you for your cooperation.
