Thanks Dads!

Thank you to all of the dads and other loved ones that joined us for Donuts with Dad this morning. It was wonderful to see all of you with your little bears!

Parent Surveys

Parents,

Please help us improve our school by taking a few minutes to complete two very important surveys: one for GCPS and one for the State of Georgia.

GCPS Survey:

Each year GCPS conducts a Parent Perception Survey which is available on the Parent Portal. Once you log-in to your account, the survey should automatically pop up on your screen (make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off if you don't see it). Click here to log-in to your account. If you haven't yet set up a Parent Portal account, please visit our main office at Dyer to complete the brief form and show your valid ID. We also have computers available in the Media Center for you to use to complete the GCPS survey.

State Survey:

The other survey is from the State of Georgia and assists with our College and Career Readiness Climate Star Rating. You may complete the State survey on your computer, smartphone, or tablet or again, at the Dyer Media Center. We would like ALL parents to complete this State survey, and all responses are anonymously submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Please click here to access the State survey.

We hope you will take a few minutes to complete these two surveys to help us improve Dyer Elementary. Thanks for your support!

Bruster's Blue Ice - Wednesday 11/15

Bruster's Blue Ice Day is next Wednesday! Students will be able to purchase a famous "Blue Ice" for $2 during their lunch. A portion of the sale will come back to Dyer.

Author Visit Rescheduled

Carmen Deedy is ill. She will not be coming next week, per doctor orders. We are working on rescheduling her visit later in the school year. For those who purchased books to be autographed, Ms. Langford is working on getting autographed book plates to put in the books.

Thanks for understanding. Hoping she feels better soon.

Easy Money Turn in Date: Friday 11/17

Our next Box Tops collection turn in is Friday, 11/17. Remember, the classroom with the most Box Tops collected will win an ICE CREAM party! All Box tops turned in must be cut neatly and not ripped out or having a missing expiration date. Winners will be announced the following Friday! Good luck!

We are also collecting Coke Rewards, see flyer below.

Bear Reader Program

The Bear Reader Program has begun. There are no special reading logs required. We are asking that the students read at least 20 minutes for five days of the week. The students already have reading logs that they have as part of their homework. Fill out the homework reading log every day. At the end of each month, the teachers will e-mail Mrs. Langford with the names of the students who have read at least 20 minutes for five days of the week. The students who complete this monthly reading goal will earn a brag tag. Brag tags are fun dog tags. The children will be able to collect a new brag tag at the end of each month. Let's see who can collect them all!

Birthday Wishes in Big Lights!

You may have noticed that birthdays can now be displayed on our school marquee. For just $5, you can wish your student a happy birthday during his/her birthday week. All proceeds benefit our "PAWS" initiative. (Summer birthdays will run during the last week of school, and during your child's birthday week.) To register your child, simply log into their MyPaymentsPlus account. Note: please allow 24 hours for processing.

Yearbook Orders

Yearbooks are now on sale, order a copy today! Simply log on to YearbookOrderCenter.com and enter our school's order number: 10768.
