You can head HERE to sign up. We look forward to meeting with families this week and hope to see you there.

How does the coin drive work?
Students deposit coins and dollars in the advisory bins. Leadership students are assigned to collect bins and tally points daily. Pennies are negative points. Students can penny bomb other advisory classes if they would like!
The top advisory class in each grade level will win a donut party at the end of the month! Encourage your children to send those coins to school.
Engineering Challenge in the Science Classroom
Coding with Hummingbird Duo Robotics Kits
Ashley Fanning created and opportunity for her students to use the hummingbird robotic kits and everyday recycled materials to create an organism that mutates to survive in a changing environment. Using light and heat sensors, student’s organisms either adapted to a hotter environment or a darker environment.
Here are some ways that students benefited from this activity:
Students utilized the four C’s.
Students practiced critical thinking as they designed an organism that met the challenge’s requirements. They practiced creativity when they extended and personalized their animal’s adaptations and communication as they analyzed the results of their design. They practiced collaboration by working with peers to complete the project while overcoming obstacles. This may have been the biggest takeaway for students!
Students developed their perseverance skills.
As students built their code, they needed to persevere to make their code function the way they thought it would. When it didn’t work, they needed to rethink their strategy to find another solution.
Students developed their logic and basic coding skills.
“Code” is a set of instructions that tells a computer what to do. By creating code for their Hummingbird robot, students learned some of the basic language used in block coding such as if-then-else statements.
Thanks to our valuable Wednesday early release collaboration time, educators in our building are able to connect and plan incredible learning experiences.
A big thank you to the Chetana Foundation!
We want to thank the Chetana Foundation for their generous donation of new clothes for our Meadow Park Clothes Closet! Their generous donation will help us get new clothes to many of our students in need. Thank you for partnering with us to benefit the Meadow Park Community!
