EVERYONE LEARNING, EVERYONE LEADING
Dear Longacre Families,
We hope you are enjoying reading Priscilla Lee Jenkins Future Author Extraordinaire with your family as part of our One School One Book, March Reading Month tradition. The students and staff are engaged in fun extension activities throughout the school day related to Cilla's adventures. We look forward to the West Oak Civitans visiting each classroom this week for a special read aloud!
Spring Student-Led Conferences are scheduled for next week on Tuesday, March 14 and Thursday, March 16. The conferences for all grades will include an opportunity for students to share and celebrate their growth through the use of their individual Leadership Notebooks. Your child's teacher has communicated specific information regarding student-led conferences so please refer to that information. Your child is eager to share his or her educational journey with you! Our spring Scholastic Book Fair will be open during conference week in our media center.
Thank you for taking time each week to read our weekly newsletter and for staying active in your child's school life. As always, feel free to contact our office at 248-489-3733 if you have any questions or need additional information.
With Longacre Pride,
Rhonda Henry, Principal

Kids Kreations- Art Fundraising Activity
Dear Parents,
We would like to introduce this unique art fundraising activity called Kids Kreations. This exciting program will allow each participating artist to have artwork professionally processed into a variety of exclusive items. Look inside to find a free page of stickers created from your child's artwork!
These products make unique keepsakes and wonderful gifts for the entire family! Kids Kreations product samples are on display in the main office for viewing.
Please take some time to review the order packet with your child's artwork and perhaps create a masterpiece of your own. Everyone is invited to take part in creating original artwork; children, adults, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends and neighbors! You may submit multiple pieces of artwork from various artists using non lined paper sized 8.5" x 11" to create your original artwork. Each piece of artwork must have a separate order form. Please make copies of the order form located on the back of the colorful brochure OR you may visit www.KidsKreations.us to print more order forms.
Kids Kreations provides a profitable way to benefit Longacre Elementary School. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards materials to enhance our art program, such as clay and glaze, printmaking ink, weaving looms and more!
Most of all, Kids Kreations offers a fun and unique way for each artist to gain pride and self-confidence through sharing artwork with others!
Please return the completed order form, artwork and payment to Longacre Elementary School no later than March 10th, 2023. Please make checks payable to Longacre PTA. The stickers are yours to keep!
Thanks for supporting the art program at Longacre Elementary School,
Mrs. Wolfe

Coming this spring- Innovation Lab!
In addition to funding provided by our PTA, we were awarded $1,500 from the Farmington Education Foundation Grant to assist us in creating Longacre's first Innovation Lab! Our Innovation/STEAM Lab committee is made up of parents, teachers & staff from the Nature Center. We have made a lot of progress in a short time! Pictured above are sketches of what we hope to transform the room into.
The goal of the Innovation Lab is to provide a space outside of the classroom for students to solve real world problems that are aligned with the curriculum using resources and materials not found in the classroom.
