News and Updates from FSMA
Inspired by the calendar...
On Monday, we learned about Delaware Day. Different grade levels focused on different concepts but all in all, everyone knows a little more about our state. A highlight of the day was a visit by Congressman John Carney. He shared information about the history of our state and answered questions posed by our 4th/5th/6th graders.
Many classrooms have been visited by Hanukah experts this week. They have been learning about some of the traditions and the favorite seems to be the dreidel game. Our youngest students seem to be singing The Dreidel song wherever they go! Thank you to the many parents who came in to teach about this holiday.
Hour of Code
Just this week there were 198,717 Hour of Code events around the world and FSMA was one of them! What is the Hour of Code? It is a one hour introduction to computer science and it is designed to demystify code and help children (and adults) see that anyone can learn the basics.
