The first round of state testing is finally over and Spring Break is just around the corner. However, we cannot back off on instruction especially with much time lost to testing. Ms. Jane Lichter, Zone 3 Area Superintendent, stopped by last Thursday for our unannounced visit and well we have some areas to get back on track.

- Make sure objectives are posted for each subject and that they match the teaching planned for the day.

- Classrooms need some tender loving care related to organization of student and teacher materials and furniture.

- Instruction should be taking place at all times.

- Make sure that small group instruction is taking place.

Setting Up Students For Success

Look how these two SES teachers work to develop a feeling of accomplishment and competence in their students as they begin to complete tasks with minimal teacher guidance. The desire for, and movement towards independence, is a typical developmental milestone for children. Our SES students can do this, we as their teachers need to get out of the way.
