Hello October- A Look at September

September was a successful month filled with new beginnings.

Below you will find some exciting September moments, along with some important upcoming dates and events. As we enter the month of October, we would like to thank the VTHS community for all of your support in kicking off the start of an already fantastic school year. We are beyond excited to see what the rest of the school year has in store for our students, and we hope you are too!


Important Information:


VTHS will be celebrating The Week of Respect from October 3rd-7th (district closed on Oct. 5th in observance of Yom Kippur), along with a Spirit Week in anticipation of our Homecoming Football Game. Students are asked to participate in a respectful manner and adhere to our student dress code policy at all times.


The Homecoming Dance will be held on October 8th from 8-11pm in the VTHS gymnasium. Any student driver under the age of 18 must depart from the dance no later than 10:35pm. A limited number of outside guests will be permitted on a first come, first served, basis.


Parent/Teacher Conferences- Tuesday, October 11th through Friday, October 14th

There will be an early dismissal schedule and all conferences will be held virtually. Parent Portal sign-ups through Genesis will open to parents/guardians on Monday, October 3rd.

  • Tuesday, October 12th- 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday- Friday, Oct.13th-15th- 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm


PSAT's will take place on October 12th for 10th and 11th grade students. All freshman and seniors will follow a regular day schedule.


VTHS will host an 8th Grade Open House on October 18th from 5:45-8:30pm. Please come check out all of the exciting things that we have to offer. From athletics to extracurriculars, CTE programs to AP courses; you will have the opportunity to learn about it all.

On October 27 & 28 from 7:30-10:30pm, come check out our amazing theater students as they perform their Fall Play "Middletown" directed by our new theater teacher, Mrs. Murolo.


On October 31st, students will be allowed to wear costumes for Halloween. Students MUST adhere to the VTSD dress code policy, or a parent/guardian will be called in to provide the student with school-appropriate clothing. Please click here for specific expectations. We will be holding a series of fun-filled contests throughout the day.


Please join me in congratulating Colin Geisen on becoming our first Student Board of Education Representative! Colin was elected by his peers and will begin his duty this month. Congratulations, Colin!
