Costello Library Media Center

Connecting, Collaborating, Creating and Learning!

Welcome to the 2015-16 School Year!

Lots of exciting things are happening in the library! Kindergarten students are busy learning how the library works, First and Second Graders are practicing following tips for how to find a "Good Fit" book to encourage growth as independent readers. Third, Fourth and Fifth Graders are using their iPads to learn and review how to find the books they want to read using Destiny Quest. I look forward to sharing more of our student learning and thinking during Library Media Classes throughout the year!

How do I use Destiny Quest at home?

For third, fourth and fifth grade students, teachers and parents who need a refresher about how to use Destiny Quest (our online library catalog), please click on the link below for a video tutorial! Please note that this video was created last spring before our school websites were redesigned, so you would want to click on the "Student Links" on the bottom right of the homepage to access Destiny Quest.

STEM activities in our Library Media Center!

Friday library media classes are beginning to engage in "STEM" activities and we will continue these throughout the year. We are having so much fun and I am learning right along with our students! These activities fit right in with the idea of the library being a place to connect, collaborate, and create. Not sure what STEM is? Check out the video below!
