HEALTH and SAFETY - SALUD Y SEGURIDAD

If you or someone in your household is sick, please do not send your children to school. Contact the school nurse if you are not sure whether to send your child. Nurse Eriksen can be reached at carolyn.eriksen@msdk12.net and 973-292-5152.
When a COVID case arises, you will be called only if your child must quarantine due to exposure. If there is no quarantine required, you will be notified immediately via a letter regarding COVID cases in the classroom or on a bus
Our classroom teachers are allowed two days to setup virtual instruction. Students have access to Google Classroom from home at anytime. Thank you in advance for supporting our amazing staff who are teaching virtually and in person at the same time
Please remind your children to remain masked on the school bus

Hillcrest Pumpkin Patch - Huerto de calabazas de Hillcrest

On Friday, October 15th, Hillcrest School's upper field will turn into our very own pumpkin patch!

Parents are welcome to volunteer to spread the pumpkins the morning of the event AND are also welcome to join their child's class outside while they pick their pumpkins. This is an outdoor event only. Hillcrest Halloween Harvest Parade and Spirit Day - Desfile de Halloween y Día del Espíritu de Hillcrest

Parents and families are welcome to join us outside at the front circle for our Halloween Harvest Parade and Spirit Day. The parade will begin at 9:30am.

Children should come to school dressed in their costumes.
Costume guidelines include NO pretend “prop” weapons such as water pistols, knives or swords.
Children must be able to sit, walk, breathe, see and hear (no masks that cover the face).
If your family does not celebrate Halloween, this event also falls on our monthly spirit day. If your child is not dressing up they are welcome to wear green and/or white.

Los padres y las familias son bienvenidos a unirse a nosotros fuera en el círculo frontal para nuestro desfile de la cosecha de Halloween y el Día del Espíritu. El desfile comenzará a las 9:30am.

Los niños deben venir a la escuela vestidos con sus disfraces. Las directrices de los disfraces incluyen NO fingir armas de "atrezzo" como pistolas de agua, cuchillos o espadas.
Los niños deben poder sentarse, caminar, respirar, ver y oír (sin máscaras que cubran la cara).

Create and monitor academic goals and individual learning plans for academically at risk students
Support teachers in their work with struggling learners
Provide differentiated instruction/supports to develop grade level academic skills to at risk students
Provide “office hours” for students in school mandated quarantine
