FEBRUARY 23, 2019
March is Reading Month kicks off on Friday, March 1st, with an assembly highlighting all of the exciting events that will take place. We will be celebrating reading month with the theme "Score Big with Books at CUES!" Each day, students are invited to show their support of reading month! Examples include: "Be a Reading JEAN-ious" (wear jeans to school) and "Reading is no SWEAT" (wear sweats to school). We will also honor reading by hosting several inspiring and influential guest readers during the month of March and offering classroom field trips to the library and other exciting opportunities.
Throughout the month, teachers will hand out a “YOU SCORED BIG!” ticket for every 5 AR points a student earns, offering students entry to our Inflatable Reward Party on March 27th. The more students read, the more tickets they collect! Each ticket can be entered into a drawing for various exciting prizes including a chance to grab money from the Cash Machine or a Score Big Science Experiment with Mrs. VanWagnen !
We would like to thank our PTO, the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club, and the Student Council for prizes. Also, special thanks to Mrs. Adams Mrs. Dickens, Mrs. Denney, Mrs. Friday and Mr. Meschke for their efforts to make this one of the best months ever! We appreciate all they do to support our students!
