A genetic engineer may work in hospitals or laboratories. Genetic engineers add DNA to an organism to make it more resistant to new or harmful things in their environment. By changing the DNA in organisms they are helping species survive and thrive longer.

  • Makes alterations to DNA to create better, more resistance species
  • Genetic engineers insert new genes into species by gene splicing
  • Once an organism has a new gene is inserted into it, it will reproduce with this gene
