Dungeons and Dragons Club at SWH but first we need some help!
Sherwood Heights Jr High is seeking an experienced Dungeon Master and Dungeons and Dragons guide who could volunteer their time for one lunch hour a week to teach, train and play D&D with some interested students!
Students’ levels range from complete novice (having no experience with the game and no character developed) to more experienced players.
If you know someone who would be a good fit or you yourself are a good fit, please contact Chantal Harry at chantal.harry@eips.ca.

Athletics Corner
How are we already almost done basketball?? The regular season games wrap up next week and then we’re into playoffs!!! Seniors and Juniors took on Ardrossan and FR Haythorne this week, and then face off against SCA next week in the last league game. Stay tuned to the Athletics Schedule and Calendar for up to date playoff games 😃
Junior B teams will wrap up their season with a wind-up tournament at FRH on Saturday. These teams have worked incredibly hard all season and players should be SOOOO proud of how much they’ve learned, improved, and accomplished 😊 😊 😊
No rest for the wicked though… Handball tryouts will take place between all the basketball – league starts up right when we get back from Spring Break! The first tryouts will be next week, so watch out for the Calendar to see when 😃

EIPS Round Dance Invitation
Elk Island Public School Division takes pride in hearing and honouring the voice of our children within our division. In doing so, we are proud to host our first Round Dance.
Being a first, we have chosen to make this Round Dance where people (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) can come to learn and understand the meaning behind the round dance.
The Round Dance will take place on the evening of March 10th, 2023, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at F.R. Haythorne Jr. High School. The evening will be interactive with dancing, storytelling, laughter and learning together. There will be a pipe ceremony the morning of as well.
There will be soup, bannock and beverages as well and a small giveaway. Everyone is welcome to attend.
2023 EIPS Annual Feedback Survey for Parents and Caregivers
Dear Elk Island Public Schools families:
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) wants to hear from you about your experience with the Division and your school. Share your thoughts by completing the 2023 EIPS Annual Feedback Survey: For parents and caregivers—open March 1-23.
Annually, EIPS conducts the survey to gauge its progress toward meeting the goals and priorities outlined in its Four-Year Education Plan. Families are asked a series of questions about their experiences with EIPS and the school their child attends, the overall performance of the Division, the quality of education being provided to students and areas for improvement. The survey feedback helps the Division develop new strategies to better serve students and the wider community.
TAKE THE SURVEY NOW!
Survey closes March 23, 2023
Open to all EIPS parents and caregivers
NOTE: The survey is anonymous and only takes a few minutes to complete. If you want to share the experiences of more than one child, or if you have a child who attends classes at more than one EIPS school—such as Next Step and an EIPS senior high school—simply complete the survey again.
The Division is also conducting a similar survey with students in Grade 9 and Grade 12, who are completing the survey in class between March 1-23. Like the parent and caregiver survey, the questions focus on the student’s experience with the Division and their school. EIPS will share the results from the 2023 EIPS Annual Feedback Surveys before the end of the school year.
Thank you,
Elk Island Public Schools

Canteen Volunteers and Menu
Volunteering for shifts in our SWH Canteen with Mrs. Braun is an excellent way to help prepare our students for the world of work. These opportunities help students build confidence, increase skill range, and feel successful as they work towards entering post-secondary or the workforce.
Also being served on Thursdays is $3 pizza slices! Pick from pepperoni, cheese and ham & pineapple.
