It's coming! Pirate Plunder Fall 2019
Mark your calendars for a completely AMAZING night with your family and friends at LSE.
Pirate Talk - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Over the last week, our LSE students have made big gains in being successful at meeting expectations. We are very proud of them for pitching in to help each other and the staff. In classes they are working hard across the board to get their projects ready for The Pirate Plunder while studying and learning each day.
Thankfulness is not something that should only come once a year and we are thankful for the diversity of our students as they learn and grow. Middle school is hard. But it is such a wonderfully exciting time for students and teachers as they build relationships and continue to learn to navigate the academic and social emotional world.
As you all enjoy your Thanksgiving Break - just know LSE is THANKFUL to have all of you as a part of our Pirate Family.
Academic Achievements - On the Rise
LSE's goal is to help our students achieve an overall proficiency of 60% in Math and ELA - that's higher than the state average and we are making gains! EXCELLENT JOB STUDENTS AND STAFF!!!

Super Snacks
The program is free to all students and staff as long as the snack is eaten on school property. Each day there are after school activities, we will continue to provide this opportunity.
This includes any athletic practice or game, tutoring, Science Olympiad, Honor Society, StuCo, Yearbook/Media, and any student who walks home (as long as they stay in the Commons to eat their snack).
Late bus riders have also been able to take part in the program - as long as they are finished before their bus arrives.
Students have been FANTASTIC about following the expectations and cleaning up. We're very proud of them!
Thank you to Teresa Twenter, kitchen manager, and her staff for preparing and serving these SUPER SNACKS each day!

Pirate REMINDERS
- Post It Darts are dangerous and wasteful. They damage our ceilings and could cause harm to others if they are struck by one. Students - please use post it notes for a better purpose - like reminders, random notes of kindness and appreciation, to organize.
- Please take and keep hats and hoods off in the building.
- Students are expected to have a planner and use it anytime they need to leave the classroom (we are ordering more planners for those who have lost them. Cost is $5) This helps us insure the safety and security of students and staff.
Box Tops for Education
Box Tops for Education - NOVEMBER!!
ALL BOX TOPS for EDUCATION proceeds for November will go to the Boonslick Regional Library as part of Literacy Month and because they are such an integral part of our students' lives. We value our next door neighbor and want to help them be able to continue to provide important programs for our community.

The Pirate Way Expectations
The Pirate Way - Be respectful, be responsible, be your best.
Each common area of the school has been outfitted with our PIRATES expectations for behavior in those areas. We continually reinforce and reteach those expectations. We hope you will take a minute to come in and see the expectations displayed or will look at the attached posted for our common areas.
