Grandma Ba's Kitchen
Open to 1st and 2nd grade students
Program Description
Have your parents ever told you to stop playing around with your food and just eat? In Grandma Ba’s kitchen, not only can you play with food, you can create food! Grandma Ba and her assistants will work with you to prepare culinary delights to share with your family: banana bread; chocolate chip cookies; lasagna; hand pies (fruit and meat); stuffed French toast; and a Valentine’s Day surprise. You will learn about kitchen safety and where various ingredients come from. You will also learn about how math, science, art, and culture help bring happiness to the table. A personalized apron and a cookbook will be yours at the end of the course. This class is sure to be yummy!
** Two parents or grandparents each night will have an opportunity to be Grandma Ba’s assistant. **

Space is limited to 12 students. Register by the end of the day on 12/14. (A random drawing will determine selected students. Parents will be notified on 12/17.)
Location: Freeland Learning Center
Days: Wednesdays; January 23rd – February 27th
Time: 3:45 – 5:30 p.m.
Class Fee: $75 (6 sessions)
** 2nd grade students that are selected to participate will be transported by bus over to the Learning Center for all six sessions. **
