Purina Fitting and Nutrition Clinic
Washington County 4-H and WashCo Feeds present a Purina Fitting and Nutrition Clinic. This clinic will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds on June 8th starting at 5. This is a great opportunity for new members to learn how to fit your animal for the county fair, as well as older members to sharpen their skills. Come join us for the evening and learn from some of the best! Please RSVP so we can have an idea for the number of meals! You may register at https://go.unl.edu/n86s
2021 4-H Year - Enrollment is OPEN

Please note that the 4-H project history has been cleared and you must enter the project name and the number of years you have participated in it. You will find your history by going into your Family Account and choosing Member Reports.
You might also notice that the Virtual Robotics project shows up in the project history but has been removed this year as the curriculum is no longer available.
YQCA (Youth for Quality Care of Animals) certification must be completed by June 15, 2021 for all youth who plan to exhibit a beef, dairy, goat, hog, sheep, poultry or rabbit animal in 4-H this year. You can visit www.yqca.org to complete your certification. You will need to use your 4-HOnline user name and password to start the process. IMPORTANT—you must have completed your 2021 4-H Enrollment to begin your YQCA process. Remember you will need to send a copy of your certificate to the office to verify you have completed your YQCA certification for 2021! The perfect winter activity is completing your YQCA early!
2021 Fremont 4-H Expo King & Queen Application Due June 15th
Any boy or girl interested in becoming a Fremont 4-H Expo King or Queen Candidate should complete the application and submit to the Fremont 4-H Expo Board no later than June 15, 2021. If selected as a candidate interviews will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 or Tuesday, July 6, 2o21. Applications can be found by going to https://extension.unl.edu/statewide/dodge/2021%204-H%20Expo%20King%20Queen%20Application.pdf. Applications are to be submitted no later than June 15th by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.

2021 WCF 4-H Sign Ups Are Open
It takes several people to ensure that the 4-H portion of the Washington County Fair runs smoothly. Consider volunteering for one of the many opportunities available. Opportunities include; Static and Contest help, Pancake Feed help, Pizza Stand help or volunteer to lead the morning Meet Me at the Flagpole. All are good opportunities for both adults and youth to directly be involved at the fair and learn more about the 4-H Program by being at the forefront of a large event. 4-H Council Seeking Pizza Stand Manager(s)
The Washington County 4-H Council is looking for a club or individual(s) to manage the 2021 4-H Council Pizza Stand at the Washington County Fair. An individual or club will receive a $500 stipend for their work during the fair. This is a great opportunity to strengthen customer service and management skills and increase funds for Washington County 4-H Council. 4-H Council supports many activities throughout the Washington County 4-H Program. If you or your club is interested about learning more please contact the 4-H Staff by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office at 402-426-9455.
Applications NOW OPEN for Youth Pizza Stand Managers
Are you interested in building your leadership and entrepreneurship skills? Applying to be a Youth Pizza Stand Manager for the 4-H Council Pizza Stand is the perfect opportunity. Youth 14 and older as of 01/01/2021 are encouraged to apply by June 15, 2021 by going to https://go.unl.edu/youthpizzastand. Youth will be required to work 30 hours during the WCF and will receive a $300 Hartvigsen Pizza Stand Manager scholarship. Questions? Reach out the 4-H Staff today for more information!
2021 Nebraska 4-H Premier Animal Science Event & Life Challenge
- Registration is now open for the 2021 Nebraska 4-H Premier Animal Science Event and Life Challenge! We’re looking forward to hosting these events in person at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln on June 28-29. Registration closes on Monday, June 14, and must be complete through county Extension Offices. Livestock Achievement Program
- We’re excited to announce the NEW Livestock Achievement Program. This opportunity is design to promote all educational aspects of the 4-H livestock projects including selection, production, leadership, and exhibition by recognizing youth striving to improve in their livestock project knowledge and leadership. The program recognizes intermediate and senior Members of Excellence across all 4-H livestock project areas, including beef, sheep, meat goat, swine, dairy cattle, dairy goat, rabbit, and poultry. Living Room Learning is back for summer 2021, and it’s a plus for everyone! Meet us in the kitchen on Wednesday, June 9th for Food+Science. Nebraska Extension Food, Nutrition & Health professionals will lead youth through an easy, microwavable food creation and a science experience using their favorite snacks. Participants will also get a chance to learn from a food scientist and create two projects to enter into the county fair! Pre-register at 4h.unl.edu/living-room-learning.
Online Insect ID Contest
The second annual online Insect ID Contest opens on June 4th! The contest is open to all youth regardless of enrollment and adults including parents, alumni, and volunteers. The contest will be available from Friday, June 4 through Monday, June 21, 2021. Learn more at 4h.unl.edu/oiic.

The annual online Horticulture Judging Contest opens on June 4th! The contest is open to all youth regardless of enrollment and adults including parents, alumni, and volunteers.
