Message from the Principal
Dear Lynnhaven families,
Recently we had fun celebrating Digital Learning Day. Students could be found making slide shows, doing research, creating projects using the 3D printer and more! Our goal at Lynnhaven is to strike a balance between high and low technology practices as students need a variety of learning to be successful. Technology has opened the doors to a vast amount of information that offers our students a world of experiences Unfortunately, with all the positive experiences technology can bring, we also run into some negative.
Recently you may have heard of various challenges circulating the Internet, with the most recent being the Momo challenge. In this challenge, a ghost-like woman pops up on the screen to scare viewers by sharing threatening messages. If you haven't had the opportunity to talk with your child about Internet safety and reporting such messages as these to adults right away, this may be a great time to have these conversations. At Lynnhaven, we encourage digital safety and remind students to responsibly use technology. We also encourage students to immediately report any unusual or inappropriate content to an adult.
In addition to Internet safety, we are having more conversations about the use of personal devices. With an increase of cell phones and tablets, this is just a reminder that, unless students are using their personal devices for instructional use as permitted by the teacher, they are to keep their personal devices in their backpack. Having personal devices out in the classroom, cafeteria, P.E., hallway, or other areas of the building create a distraction and take away from the learning of the students. Thank you for your assistance with this.
We appreciate all you do every day to help us balance our ever changing world of technology!
Sincerely,
Teri Breaux

Farewell Dr. Powell
With her vacancy, the school division is working hard to fill the position. Currently, we are filling some days with interim retired administrators. Thank you to Ms. Sessoms and Ms. James who has been assisting at Lynnhaven the last several weeks! Once we have secured a new assistant principal, we will communicate this to our parents and community. Thank you all for your patience during our transition.
Grandparents' Day
Congratulations, Mrs. Corona!
Attendance
Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Drop Off:
We have designated our loop by the front entrance as the parent drop off. To ensure student safety, dropping students off in the parking lots is not permitted. We are lucky that the parent drop off line at Lynnhaven is generally short and moves quickly. We also ask that you keep a single file line with no passing. Sometimes students get out on the passenger side, so we want to keep all our Lions safe!
Pick Up:
In the afternoon, student pick up is done in the cafeteria. Students should not walk to the parking lot to be picked up, as movement in the parking lot can be unsafe for our students.
Thank you for keeping our students safe!
Congratulations, Mr. Andersen!
Congratulations, Mrs. Buse!
