Natick Preschool Donation Drive
Natick Preschool is sponsoring a Donation Drive for the Natick Service Council. Thanks so much to those who have already donated! Our piles at all locations are growing! At this time, they are in need of the following items:
Diapers (sizes 4,5 and 6 only)
Baby wipes
Body wash
Body lotion
Toothpaste
Mouthwash (with no alcohol)
Items can be dropped off in the lobby of the school or sent in your child’s backpack. We often talk to our students about the value of caring for each other and our community...this is the perfect opportunity to show them this value in action.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give! We appreciate you!
Important Things to Know!
- At times, we all need to take a moment/break and may just need a little extra time – ask your child/self – “Do you need one more minute or two?” We have found these tips to be VERY helpful for everyone in our classrooms! Take a look at these breathing videos. They can be fun to try with the whole family during the winter months when the sun sets so early in the day and outdoor time is more limited
- A Tip from Mrs. Earner: We are strengthening our problem solving skills–we recently asked friends to choose a “helpful seat vs. hoopy (silly) seat” at circle/learning centers. Try this at home with your family–for older children try smart/social seat/spot/choice etc.! Try asking your child what worked/helped them with a specific task…Try asking what could I (grown-up/child) have done differently?
- With cold season upon us, you can also practice covering coughs and sneezes to contain germs. Mrs. Jill Ricardo shows us how to practice with little ones. Click the link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SONm9k_zgJ3Hc-aa7xTVF9Bcs_0jDkil/view?usp=share_link
- Many preschoolers have not yet developed the fine motor finger muscles to tie shoe laces, but many older preschoolers express interest. Here is a shoe tying video to reference if your child expresses interest.
- Reminder for Parents Who Want to Volunteer--CORI Checks
Reminder If you want to volunteer in schools, you must have a CORI check conducted and you must go into the building with identification (drivers license or passport) to do this. Click here for description of what a CORI check is and does. Without a CORI check, you cannot volunteer in the school. Here is the form to fill out for a CORI. Preschool volunteer opportunities include being a Mystery Reader for the class, presenting a family tradition and supporting special projects.

What is the Preschool Flip?
Fleece! Jackets! Chilly weather calls for additional layers. Use the linked video to practice the Preschool Flip to build your child's independence putting on a jacket. They will be so proud of themselves and you will have your hands free for extra hugs!
