Arcola- The Mid-Year Review!
The Magic in the Middle, January 2020
January Happenings
New Year, New US- We came back to a BUSY 2020 at Arcola:
- There were many assemblies sponsored by the District Attorney Office. Such as vaping, drugs and opioids; cyber-bullying, sexting, teen dating and violence awareness. These topics may seem heavy but are needed in terms of educating our children on how to stay safe. Parents, please have open and honest conversations with your child and be a good listener. Know where they are going and who they are spending time with! Check phones and technology accounts. Be involved and be there!
- Our ski club took a few trips to the mountains. Fun was had by all.
- National Junior Honor Society collected books for Cradles to Crayons organization. Community service at its finest!
- Spelling Bee winner was Ava Mancini- best of luck as she advances.
- We have clubs again and Warrior Win support and enrichment.
- We are preparing report cards for the end of MP2.
- Congratulations to our talented students who participated in the Schuylkill Valley Area Orchestra Festival and the Inter-county Band Festival.
- Our 8th grade students are starting the High School scheduling process. They met with High School counselors and some visited the North Montco technical School. There is an open house at NMTCC on 2/5 from 5:30-7:30pm. Applications are due 2/27. Our students will be doing their 9th grade schedules on 2/20.
- Our students are currently in Maine as part of the Maine Exchange Program.
