CMS EAGLE EXPRESS
April 19, 2020 VOLUME 12 ISSUE 33
from principal miller
Hello CMS Family,
Our schools will remain closed this week and we will continue to have virtual office hours from 9 AM to 1 PM daily Monday through Friday.
A link for parent permission for Google Meet, a video conferencing app that has recently been approved by District 5, was emailed prior to Spring Break. Thank you to all the CMS parents who have already completed the form. If you have not done so yet, please be sure to complete the Parent Permission for Google Meet ASAP. Students with parent permission will be able to participate in a live session with their teacher and classmates. All others will be able to access the recorded version of the session. Teachers will determine if, when, and how they will use Google Meet and will notify students through Google Classroom.
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break and we are all refreshed and ready to begin again and finish strong. Parents, please know our assignments are meant to continue learning for all of our students. We realize learning looks very different for each student right now, and it is our hope that it is allowing a softer start in the mornings, a more relaxed space for learning, and lots of time for family, outdoors and sunshine, and other things you love. If you or your student have any questions or need any help with any of the assignments, please contact the teacher. We are here for you.
As always, we are Respectful, Responsible, and Remarkable!

important information for cms parents and students ~ parent permission needed as soon as possible
Thank you to those of you who have already submitted the Google Meet permission form for your child.
In order to allow teachers and students to communicate in a live format, the D5 Technology and Instructional Technology Departments have been working diligently to provide a platform that is safe for both students and teachers. As a Google for Education District, teachers may choose to use Google Meet as we move forward with Distance Learning. All sessions will be recorded and made available for students who are not able to attend. It is recommended that a parent be in the home while these sessions are taking place; however, we understand that may not always be possible. We are glad to be able to provide this platform so that our teachers can be more interactive with students.
In order for your child to participate in these live sessions, we must have parent/guardian permission. Please click HERE to complete the permission form.
If we do not hear back from you, your child will not be able to participate, so please complete and submit this form as soon as possible.
Thank you for all you are doing during this time of learning for us all!
sports physicals
Due to the current health issues associated with COVID-19/Coronavirus, the South Carolina High School League strongly recommends any physicals required for athletic participation for the 2020-21 school year be delayed until after May 1, 2020.
