Photosynthesis

How does water enter a plant and get to the leaves?
Water enters a plant through the roots, travels up the stem and finally reaches the leaves.
How does CO2, enter the leaf?
The tiny holes on the leaf allow CO2 to enter it.
Where does photosynthesis occur in the leaf?
Photosynthesis takes place inside plant cells in small things called chloroplasts
Why is sunlight important to the process of photosynthesis?
Light energy is absorbed by chlorophyll, a photosynthetic pigment of the plant.
What is the waste product for the plant and how is it removed from the plant?
The waste product of the plant is oxygen. Oxygen is removed from the leaf as carbon enters the leaf.
What does the plant do with the sugar it makes?
It is used by the plant for energy.
What are the final product s of photosynthesis and how are they important to life on this planet?
The final product is oxygen & sugar. Oxygen is important to breath & sugar is needed for energy.
