Gr 2 ELA and MATH

December 11, 2015

In English Language Arts (ELA) this week:

This week we read some books with our small reading groups that had something to do with Christmas. We discussed some themes related to the stories, and looked at challenging words, and reviewed strategies to help read them. We discussed "igh" rhymes, and even wrote a song about Elvis, the Singing Elf. This group really likes the Elvis word wall cheer, so be sure to ask your child to spell a word for you with their best Elvis impression.

Check out the link below:

Next week will be a little lean for ELA, as we will be spending some time getting ready for our big Christmas service. We should have time to read a Christmas classic together, and discuss reading goals for the break.

Pilgrim Kids Care

We show we "care and share" in many ways: feeding the hungry, packing stockings with goodies for others, singing with Seniors, and sharing the message of Jesus' birth through word and songs!
