Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is the largest drug prevention campaign in the nation and takes place each year from October 23 through October 31st. Red Ribbon Week at GMS was a huge success! Students participated in a variety of educational activities, including a poster contest, an essay contest, virtual games, online videos with quizzes, mask-decorating, drug-facts trick-or-treating, and dress up days. Over 50 students received prizes for their participation in our fun-filled week. Mrs. Goldner did an excellent job organizing this event, and a huge thank you to GMS Stuco for donating prizes. Great job students and staff!

Veterans Day

Veterans Day was observed a little differently this year at GPS. Typically, GMS and GHS attend an assembly put together by Mr. Wilhelm and the band; however, this year an all-school assembly wasn't possible. Fortunately, Mr. Wilhelm was able to create an amazing video for our students to view during their Geography (7) or History (8) class. Additonally, Mrs. Woods and her 7th hour class decorated our entry way with U. S. Flags. Thank you to our veterans!

Countdown to Christmas Break!

We love to have fun at GMS, and one way we do that is to encourage participation among students and staff. We have a tradition of dress-up days as we count down to Christmas Break, and we invite all students to participate by wearing what they already have at home. We also use this as a time to collect Christmas cards to deliver to local nursing homes; these can be handmade or purchased cards. Like most things this year, the delivery of the cards to the facilities by students will not be possible, but the cards will be dropped off for the residents to enjoy.

Semester Tests

Semester Tests will be held on Tuesday, December 15, and Wednesday, December 16. Students are not eligible for semester test exemptions this year, so all students should plan to be present the final two days of the semester.
