It's All About Perspective
Staff Meeting Wednesday
Reminder that Laura has been diligently working out kinks in the testing process, sending out updates as available and needed, and doing an amazing job keeping everything on track and moving! Kudos to her for her work, our EL folks for helping figure out how to get all our kiddos tested, and each of you for being flexible and rolling with the punches! Thanks in advance for your work and patience! As a factoid, Kevin has informed us that there is only 5 weeks this semester where a testing window isn't open :o)
EL students and teachers will begin the process of administering WIDA this week and next. We have roughly 1/3 of our students that will participate in this process, which has almost become high stakes due to our 4 year AMAO plan. Please be patient as we work through this process.
Pop Machine Price Increase After Christmas
The money raised by this machine supports events/celebrations such as the staff Christmas party and teacher appreciation week among others. Now that GCS has settled their pop contract, it is apparent that we will have to raise the cost for a bottle of soda. The new cost will be $1.50.
STEM Project Grant
If anyone would like to take the plunge on trying a STEM activity, Mr. Kauffman and I would love to help you find or plan a project to try with your kids. To help cover costs there is a grant available for those interested. Here is the grant information:
We are thrilled to announce that the 2016 Winter EnablINg STEM teacher grant cycle has kicked off!

T“If you are working on something exciting that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you.”
– Steve Jobs
What are you most excited about in life?
How does your team or organization help you realize your own personal vision?
What are two steps you can take today to fuel your team’s vision?
The employment acknowledgement letters will be sent to buildings as soon as we are able to pull them from the system. We had hoped to get these out to schools the first week back after break, but we are experiencing a delay, and will send them as soon as possible. The wage increases will be realized on the 1/29 paychecks.
Tentative Strategic Planning Presentations – During the last week in January, Dr. Woodworth will be coming out to four (4) building locations to share information, with anyone who wishes to attend, about strategic planning. Watch for more information to be forthcoming, once the dates are finalized.
