From Your Stated Clerk
It was rewarding this week to meet our Confirmand Class of 2022 and to hear them read their faith statements. The congregation will get to meet them and hear their faith statements as part of Sunday worship.
I've never written a statement of faith. I joined First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw as a member of a large group of ninth-graders so there wouldn't have been time for all us to have read them. What I've come to believe now is not the same as the simple faith I once had. I also realize that just learning more about God and what He has done for the past several thousand years is not the same as trusting in Him. Spending time in reading His Word and then using that as the basis for serving others sums up my personal faith.
Our Community Bible Study leaders group closed the year with an exercise to write something of our faith on a small stone as a momento of the year. A single word would have sufficed, but I wrote "Because God is faithful, we can trust Him." It really is hard to sum up what we believe in a statement of faith. Please take the opportunity to come hear our confirmands' statements this Sunday.
Blessings, Ron K

Spotlight on Mission
The Mission and Outreach committee would like to take this opportunity to let you know what we do with your support. The committee is made up of 3 elders: Joe Tyrrell, Sandra Crane, and Glen Christoff. The at large members: Pat Ball, Dodie Berry, Jim Lemon, Steve Orr and Betsy Telford. At our last meeting we made an extra $2000 donation to PDA, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, which will help support Ukrainian relief efforts as well as other disasters in the US and abroad.
We will begin to 'spotlight' one of the 30+ organizations that we support in the E-blast and bulletin. If you ever have any questions, concerns or suggestions please feel free to reach out to any of us.

by Mary Kassian
Wednesdays, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
July 13 - August 31
What if we stopped placing our confidence in the things of this world -- and instead put our trust in the only One who is truly trustworthy?
Whether you're seeking more confidence or feel you already have it, when you lean into a source of confidence that is unchanging, firm, and trustworthy, you'll become more like the bold, courageous woman God created you to be.
Please join us for this eight-week study. Even if you can't be with us every class, please come when you can. There is a light amount of reading homework each week. Books will be available at our first class and at the church office now.
Please contact Bonnie Horner, 248-880-2327 or bnnhrn@yahoo.com to sign up.
