Faith Formation Program Options for Grades K-7
SUNDAY CLASSROOM PROGRAM (Grades 1-7)
A traditional classroom setting with a catechist (teacher) for each grade level that meets weekly on Sundays between our two Masses from 9:30am until 10:20am, allowing your family to attend Mass either before or after class.
This is an intergenerational program for all ages that focuses on a unique Faith Topic each month. Once each month all families come together to explore that month’s Faith Topic in an interactive learning approach designed for the entire family. During the rest of the month, families choose one family at-home lesson each week from a “playlist” of possible activities that reflect that month’s Faith Topic.
In addition, special parish-wide Family Events will be offered throughout the year to encourage participation in the liturgy, our parish community, foster service to others, and especially to grow in our faith together.
Registration Is Open for Confirmation Preparation Years I and II (8th grade and up)
For Confirmation this year we are setting up a two-year program, as prescribed by the diocese, for young people in 8th grade and up, culminating in the reception of the Sacrament after the second year of preparation. Please choose either Sunday or Tuesday evening, 6:30 - 7:30 PM for your preferred class time when registering. Classes will meet 3-4 times a month with the Confirmation experience rounded out with periodic retreats, service projects, and other relevant events. [You can access the registration form below.]
First Sacrament Preparation (Penance and Eucharist)
Why do families enroll their child in two separate programs for Faith Formation and First Sacraments? The Faith Formation classes will provide the necessary foundation of our faith and core beliefs that will help them to better understand what we will share with them in Sacrament Preparation, which focuses specifically on the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible to begin preparation for First Sacraments, a child must
- be Baptized into the Catholic Faith.
- have ALREADY COMPLETED at least ONE FULL YEAR of Faith Formation (Religious Education or Catholic School) in Grade 1 or higher.
- be currently enrolled IN THEIR SECOND FULL YEAR (Religious Education or Catholic School) in Grade 2 or higher for the 2022/2023 school year.
Invitations will be emailed in August to all families enrolled in their second year of Faith Formation classes for the 2022/2023 school year. Catholic School families should email Mrs. K for enrollment information.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC)
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults adapted for Children (RCIC) is designed for children and youth over 7 years of age who may have a desire to join the Catholic Church through Baptism, or to prepare for the reception of the Sacraments they have missed since Baptism (First Holy Communion and Confirmation). Along with a parent, godparent, or sponsor, they will attend RCIC classes on a regular basis beginning in October and continuing through the Easter Season.

Holy Trinity Vacation Bible School (VBS)
THANK YOU TO ALL CAMPERS, VOLUNTEERS, FAMILIES, PARISHIONERS, and STAFF who helped make our 2022 VBS Heroes of Faith a SUPER experience for everyone!!
Our gymnasium and surrounding areas were transformed into HERO CITY last week as we enjoyed discovering SUPERHEROES of the Bible and our own SUPERPOWERS that we can practice every day! A special word of thanks to all those who gave their time and love so freely before and during VBS. We couldn’t do it without this amazing team of volunteers!!
Thank you to all who donated to our VBS “Change for Change” Coin Challenge as we partnered with the Knights of Columbus to raise money to help those in need in the Ukraine. With your help, our children and youth raised almost $1600!! Our winner was the RED SQUAD (4-5 year old's) with $1076.57 raised! Our crew of 8-10 years old's, the BLUE SQUAD, came in second closely followed by the rest of our teams. Great job to all and THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!

YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS
Youth Service Hours (Grades 6 and up)
Why should teens volunteer?
The benefits youth receive from volunteering include: learning to respect others, learning to be helpful and kind, learning to understand people who are different, developing leadership skills, becoming more patient, and gaining a better understanding of citizenship. It also helps teens gain new skills necessary for college and the job market such as communication skills, dependability, time management, and decision making.
Most importantly...serving others is what Jesus wants us to do!
One of Mother Teresa's favorite texts in the Bible, which she often quoted to support her ministry to the poor, is "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:40, 45). Like Jesus, his followers should be concerned about the needs of others, and find ways to help!
Each year, we ask our Middle and High School Faith Formation students to serve others in their community for a specified number of Christian Service Hours:
- Grade 6 = 6 Hours
- Grade 7 = 7 Hours
- Confirmation Year I = 8 Hours
- Confirmation Year II = 10 Hours
It could be as simple as helping an elderly neighbor take out their trash or pulling weeds in their garden to organizing a collection drive for clothing and food for those less fortunate in your community. There are many ways to serve others in the name of Jesus!
See below for an updated list of youth service opportunities in our parish and community. You are also welcome to email us for additional ideas at any time.
THANK YOU PARENTS for your support in encouraging your children to find ways to help others and share the love and light of Christ in our community!!
Service Hours Opportunities
Assistant Youth Catechists
If you are at least 13 years of age and are enrolled in Confirmation Year II or have already received the Sacrament of Confirmation, you are invited to serve as an Assistant Youth Catechist in our Sunday Faith Formation classrooms. Is God calling you to this important ministry?
If you...
- are a person who loves God and desires a deeper knowledge of your faith;
- are someone who loves working with children and sharing your love of Christ by example;
- are searching for ways to serve others by being the "Hands of Christ" in your faith community...
Altar Servers (Grade 4+)
Serving at the Altar is a terrific opportunity to serve God, Father Tim, Father John, and the Church. It’s a chance to not only witness the miracle of the consecration but also to help make it happen. It is an awesome job, you get a great sense of pride, and some of the best seats in the house for Mass.
Youth Lectors and Liturgical Greeters in Ministry (Grade 4+)
Do you love to read? Do you enjoy time with Jesus in prayer? If you do, you may be just who we are calling to serve as a Lector for our weekend Mass celebrations. Learn how to proclaim the Word to all and grow closer in your friendship with Jesus and others.
