Hamilton Boys' High School
Newsletter 3, June 2019
Welcome to the end of Term 2. Many of our boys are travelling home these holidays and we wish them a safe journey, warm weather and relaxing time with family and friends.
Term 3 is a hectic term with the finish line in sight for our senior students. Senior practice examinations take place in week 4 of Term 4 and our Year 11, 12 and 13 students have only 13 weeks of school before they take study leave to prepare for NCEA examinations.
I have attached the NCEA examination timetable once again so that you are able to select flights home for your son, dependent on the date of his final examination.
Junior and Senior mid-year reports on the Parent Portal
Mid-year reports are now available on the parent portal. All homestay parents, natural parents, designated caregivers and agents should have access to the parent portal. If you are not able to access your student/son's report, please contact Janelle Cullen Wright, our Student Data Administrator. She will check that you are on our contact database and that you have the correct name and password. firstname.lastname@example.org

Year 9 and 10 end-of-year activity week and camps
Our school year ends on Thursday the 5th of December for our Year 9 and 10 students. The final 4 days of our school year provide students with the opportunity to choose activities and camps outside of the classroom. Our Year 9 students take part in daily activities that can be school-based or involve travel to a location in the Waikato. Our Year 10 students can choose local adventures or travel to beautiful places in our North island. Opportunities like sailing, ocean fishing, hunting, mountain bike riding, learning to surf and aviation are a sample of the vast range of camp options offered.
The Year 9 activities week and the Year 10 camps are compulsory. Please do not book flights home for your son/student until the 5th of December or after. Absence from school prior to the 5th of December is regarded as condoned truancy.
