Virtual Science Fair
Please join Olson in participating in Toys for Tots, benefiting families in our community! We are partnering with all of Allen ISD and the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots organization in their commitment to collect toys and books for children in our community that would otherwise not receive items for the Holidays. We are collecting new unwrapped toys and books from November 9th – December 4th.
In Person Learners
There are big, labeled boxes set up by the stairs and across from the office that you can place your donated items in. We appreciate your support and generosity!
At Home Learners
Toys for Tots will have extra donation boxes at 2 locations: The Allen ISD Service Center, 1451 N. Watters Road, and the Allen ISD Administration building, 612 E. Bethany Drive to drop-off items.
ALL FAMILIES also have the option to drop their items at the Allen ISD dedicated spot that will be setup at the Allen Event Center for a drive-thru collection on Tuesday, December 8th from 5:00-10:00pm held by FOX 4 News and the Marine Corps League of Collin County for Toys for Tots.
Olson’s Virtual Science Fair will be held on Thursday, December 10. Look for information on how to participate from your students teacher. You may also email Citabra.email@example.com if you have questions.
AT HOME LEARNERS
FROM THE NURSE: ATTN (KINDER, 1ST, 3RD, AND 5TH GRADE)
The State of Texas requires hearing and vision screenings to be completed on all Kinder, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students. With half of our student population learning virtually this year, students will need to be brought to the school, so that I can complete a quick hearing and vision screening. Please see the available days and times to sign up your student.
GET YOUR OLSON SPIRIT GEAR
Did you know that NEW PRODUCTS have been added to the Olson Spirit Shop?
Check out Splash enjoying the new decals! Decals can be used on just about anything: cars, water bottles, folders... the list goes on! We also have some vintage Olson t-shirts and have restocked sizes on our new Olson t-shirt for this year! Click here to check out the Spirit Shop on the Olson PTA site!
We are making deliveries to school for the In-School learner orders and have porch pick up for At-Home learner orders.
Character Trait of the Month
The Character Trait for the month of November is Citizenship! Citizenship is defined as the qualities that a person is expected to have as a responsible member of a community. We demonstrate our citizenship by showing respect, honesty, compassion, courage, etc. Good citizens are willing to learn, work hard, protect the environment, help others, respect people and property, and are considerate. Each of us are members of multiple communities – home, school, local community, and digitally. This month, talk to your children about how they can be good citizens in the different areas, as well as have them provide examples. Also discuss with them their rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
