Greetings,

On behalf of Eagle Academy Charter School, I want to extend a warm welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

Our skilled and dedicated staff have been busy planning and preparing for the year. We look forward to seeing all our new and returning students on the first day of school: August 20th for 1st - 6th grade and August 23rd for our Kindergarteners. As always, Eagle Academy is committed to providing the highest quality instruction in conjunction with a rigorous curriculum and high expectations to help each student progress at a developmentally appropriate rate in a safe learning environment.

Our APB and PTO are gearing up to provide opportunities for you to log volunteer hours, support school-wide programs and attend exciting events. Opportunities abound! I hope that you will seize every opportunity (both inside and outside of the classroom) to partner with us to make this a fun-filled year of learning and achievement for all our students.

Lets make this a positive and productive year together!

Student Accident & Sickness Coverage

Anchorage School District does not provide medical coverage for student injuries. However, ASD has made available an option for families to purchase a low cost student accident insurance program. The available plans can supplement current insurance, or be a stand-alone policy for your student/s. Options for school day, sports or 24-hour coverage are available.

More information is available online at www.myers-stevens.com, or by calling 800-827-4695. Bilingual services are available.

Church Parking Spots

As we have many new families and those returning may need a reminder.....

Please don't park in the 2 spaces in the parking lot that have the posts wrapped with striped tape. Those 2 spots are the church parking spaces. Reverend Jones would sure appreciate it.

Hello Eagle Academy Families!

The PTO is looking forward to another amazing year for our staff, students and families. Last year, with your support, we were able to accomplish so much. Not only did we have Family Fun Nights, but we also donated to the Fisher House at JBER, provided resources to the staff and school, and supported many student activities. We hope this year will be all that and more.

Please join our Facebook group: "Eagle Academy Charter School (EACS) PTO" for all current PTO information. Stay on the lookout for ways you can get involved and log volunteer hours, the PTO can always use your help.

Warmest regards,
Christina Shontz, PTO Chair

HealthWise with Nurse Jan

Hello & welcome back to school! Please stop in and visit anytime; I always have an open door policy. I am here to care for your child and I appreciate your feed back.

If your student has an allergy or medical issue, please keep me updated.

I will be sending home a pink 'Over The Counter' medication sheet in your student's class folder. Please fill out our child's information (all children in a family can go on one sheet) and return completed and signed form in the folder. This gives me a reference to work from when you child comes in to the Nurse's office with an ailment or injury as to the parent's preferences.

Sincerely, Nurse Jan
