Updates from Needham's Homeroom
5th Grade 2015-2016
Math News
5th graders are working to understand the relationship between fractions and decimals on a number line and when using decimal squares. Students have been diligently analyzing various forms of numbers in their "book of math" and while playing math games. Recently, partners have been building with Omnifix Cubes. This helps them to create models to represent different volumes. During Calendar Grid time we have been discussing perspective and uncovering new patterns. If your child likes MineCraft they will love Calendar Grid work. Speaking of MineCraft, I've attached a link for buying a MineCraft account. Also,if you are looking for ways to have "math talk practice at home, I've included some links you might like to investigate.
