Confirmation

Last Sunday many of our Year Six and Parish students were Confirmed at a special 10.30am Mass by Fr Paul. It was a very reverent occasion with a fantastic turn out of parents, grandparents and friends.

Our students were very well prepared by Ms Maloney and certainly looked the part on the morning. I would very much like to thank everyone involved in the preparation for this important day. It was very special indeed!

Year 3 Assembly

Tomorrow morning at 9am our Year Three class will present their assembly item in the hall. I know they have been working hard and I am really looking forward to seeing what they come up with. It promises to be a lot of fun.

Interschool Sport Carnival

Next Friday (June 17) our Year 6’s will be competing in Modcrosse, Leaguetag and Handball against our regional schools at Morris Buzzacott Reserve in Kardinya.

The students really look forward to these days and I wish them the best of luck. Parents are welcome to come and support our students.

Edu-Dance Concert

Our students have been working hard in their Edu-Dance lessons with Miss Winter this term and we are excited to announce that the concert will take place on Wednesday 22nd June.

The concert will be split into two sections to allow for the volume of parents to watch the performance in a COVID safe manner. Students will remain for the whole performance.

2.15pm PP, Yr 2, Yr 4 & Yr 6. Families of these students will be invited to enter the Hall and view these performances. At the end of this session, only those who have children in Years 1,3& 5 will remain and other families of Yrs 1, 3 & 5 will join them.

2.35pm Yr 1, Yr 3, Yr 5. Families of these students will be invited to enter the Hall and watch these performances.

School Photos

Our School Photo Day for 2022 is Wednesday June 29 (Week 10) for our Kindy to Year 6 classes with the Pre-Kindy students having their photo on Tuesday June 28. Please keep these dates in your diary. This year we are again using Photo Hendricks.

As Term 2 is a winter term, I would like all students to be in full winter uniform for the photos.

P&F Meeting

There is a P&F meeting next Monday (June 13) evening at 6.30pm in the staffroom. All are welcome!

Best Wishes

Making Jesus Real - Queenies Style

As part of our Year 6 leadership roles, the Student Representative Council Executive wants to promote Making Jesus Real within our school community. We have been going around to classrooms to interview students and to see how Jesus is alive in our school.

Last week, we interviewed some Year 5 students. Our question was: "How do we welcome people at Queen of Apostles School. "This is what they had to say:

"You invite anyone who wants to play, into your games. We don’t exclude anyone."

Indiana

"You make them feel unique and let them realise their talents. We allow them to be themselves and appreciate them for it".

Michelle

"You can show lots of empathy, like if they’re sad you can cheer them up. You can talk to them privately about how they feel."

Taehee

"We just help anyone who needs help."
