Mavericks Take Care of Mavericks
We have to make it a point to address these concerns; therefore, I will record an announcement Monday that I need you to play for your students. Also, coaches may park beside me in the handicap parking during your season so that you can be close to the door. I park in the lined area to stop parents from pulling there in the afternoon, so pull beside me during your season and I will share with Officer Mason.
Please take a few moment to address safety. In both instances, these individuals are physically ok. However, there is an emotional experience that comes with it to the victims and those close to them.
Please don't hesitate to ask many any questions or concerns.
i-Ready Successes
We are going to begin to highlight strategies that are working in the classroom. This week we congratulate Mrs. Raines for the use of i-Ready! She has a student who grew 12% from last years benchmark to this years reading benchmark. We appreciate Mrs. Raines for helping him with i-Ready, strategies and encouraging a love of reading! Keep up the good work.
Raising the Ridge
I am so proud and excited in the direction we are going with HiRMS and instruction. I'm never one to get comfortable, but you are forging ahead with CFA's, intentionally teaching standards, utilizing i-Ready for our lower 25% of students, engaging students in Core and Encore, voicing your desire to know all the facets of SchoolNet, wanting a better benchmark tool, and the list goes on. The fact that you are having these crucial conversations shows that you are not in a complacent place. You want the best for students and your instruction. Success, growth, achievement, etc. is a process. It takes time, failures, celebrations, data analysis, and desire.
All of these things are part of the big picture and for a moment, I want to focus on the little things that go on daily in the classroom. Not a program or an assessment, but the day to day formative assessments you use to enhance instruction. Tickets out the door, questioning skills using Blooms, small group instruction, etc. I don't want you to do it as a checkoff, but to see the benefits in using these strategies.
Below are some online strategies for your viewing.
