CJH Weekly Update
Staff - Week of October 28th
Need to Know
Over the next 2 weeks, I have several days that I am scheduled out of the building. This is due to the fact that I have several trainings that are wrapping up, most of which began this summer. The good news is that these days slow down significantly after the next two weeks. I hate being out of the building because of the extra stress that it puts on everyone else and the fact that it takes me several days to dig out of the hole that it creates. I will do my best to stay connected via e-mail and text.
Wendy Goodline is available to help with discipline issues, but it is very important that students are not sent to the office for any issues less than student safety. For students that are struggling with classroom disruption, please continue to use your partner teachers for time outs or the hallway. The office is a very busy place and the office staff is not able to manage students for these type of behaviors.
Expectations
Just a reminder that students should not be taking backpacks, blankets or jackets to class. No need to get into a battle with a student, feel free to contact me if they give you a hard time. We have found that some students get upset because they have been allowed to take these items to several classes in a row and then someone reminds them that they are not allowed to and it becomes a battle. If we all enforce the expectations it makes everyone's job a bit easier.
Parent Teacher Conferences
P/T Conferences are scheduled for Nov. 6 and 7 from 4pm - 7pm. We will be providing pizza for dinner on Wednesday and we will eat family style in the library. Just bring your own drink and spend a few minutes relaxing before we return to work.
Following conferences on Thursday, anyone that is interested, we will be meeting up at a local watering hole for food, drinks and social time. Location is still to be determined at this point.
