SHISD Mid-Week Message
Promoting Great Things in a Great School District
If you build it, they will come.
For years, Spring Hill ISD has been sought out as a district parents want to send their children to. As I visit with the people in Longview, I am reminded time and time again about what a great reputation Spring Hill ISD has.
Now, two weeks into the school year, our enrollment for the first time is over 1900 and has peaked at 1910 students! That is almost one hundred more students than we had at this time last year. This is a tribute to the fantastic job that you do every single day to make this the best school district in the state of Texas.
Not only is enrollment increasing, but school spirit and Panther Pride is showing by increased attendance at both football and volleyball games. The community pep rally had its largest turnout in years. Attendance is higher for open houses, PTA meetings and Booster club meetings as excitement for the school year builds.
Last night the turnout at the SH Education Foundation's Chick-Fil-A Blue Out Night was incredible and the energy of the pep rally was electric. We have built a school district that is excellent in academics, has students of great character, and is a strong part of the community. Let’s continue to build on the momentum of this great start. It’s going to be a great year! I hope to see all of you this Friday night in White Oak as we take on the Roughnecks. Go Panthers!

Congratulations to the following SHXC runners who finished in the top 10:
Kase White for winning the Kaufman Invitational CC meet this past weekend for the varsity division & Manuel Flores 5th and Braden Herman 7th in the JV division.
Congratulations to Kinsey Smith for her varsity debut at the Union Grove Invitational with her 8th place finish out of over 200 runners.
WEEK 2:
This Saturday SH Cross Country runners attended the Tyler Lee Invitational, held at UT Tyler Campus. All four teams competed the HOT and HUMID race in Spring Hill style. After a week of racing as split teams (Girls @Union Grove) and (Guys @ Kaufman), the team returned to UT Tyler with 3 times as many runners as last year.
They have been running since the start of summer for most of the runners, and some learning each and every we. Spring Hill lined up at the starting line with one goal…to show East Texas just what the Panthers are made of. From the Varsity boys division to the JV girls…each runner ran their heart out. Cool App for Teachers
Seesaw is a digital portfolio that allows kids to save and submit a variety of work — videos, photos, text, and drawings. They can reflect on their work in writing or with a voice recording when they submit it, and teachers can offer feedback as well. Teachers can then approve items to make them accessible to parents. Teachers have the option to review a feed of an entire class’s work or view it by a specific student, which is especially handy for student or parent conferences. Teachers across all content areas can use Seesaw in their classes to keep digital portfolios of student work.
