Miss Maudie a.k.a cake lady
Miss Maudie's opinion
Miss Maudie believes that the Dill and Jem are a catch and are nice kids , she lets them play in the yard as long as they don't make a mess or destroy anything. Miss Maudie likes Scout and thinks Scout is alone(but is kind and a curious calm child) and with just boys since she Dresses like one,"With a click of her tongues he thrust out her bridgework,a gesture of cordiality that semented our friendship." .Miss Maudie also believes that Atticus acts kind and himself no matter where he is,"Atticus Finch is the same in his house as he is on the public streets." . She thinks that Arthur Radley just shut everyone out and hid in his house for the rest of his life.
Why did Harper Lee include Miss Maudie as a main character in the novel?
Harper Lee created this character for the main character to have a role model. Since Miss Maudie is a kind lady ,but doesn't really dress like one which makes Scout feel okay about dressing that way too ,she doesn't start rumors but she does kill them. She also sends you to take free cake home!
