Message from Miss Melanie

What a busy past two weeks we have had since our last newsletter.

We held our Parent workshop for those students who were participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, thank you to Miss Chelsea for a well prepared workshop and to the families who attended. Students were well prepared for the Sacrament on Tuesday evening at the Church, again a thank you to Miss Chelsea and Miss Jocelyn for preparing the candidates so well.

Miss Jocelyn prepared our first Whole School Mass for the Assumption of Mary on Thursday 18th of August. Well done to all the students who read the readings of the day and the prayers. Thank you to Monsignor Paul for officiating the service and to all the students for being so engaged in the mass on the day.

A reminder that Betta now has uniforms in stock, so please head down to order any uniforms your child needs. A number of students are not wearing the correct uniform and this does not support our uniform policy. Please encourage your child to wear the appropriate uniform each day.

We have Book Fair and Book Week Dress Up later this week. Check out our Facebook page later in the week to see the great costumes our students turn up in on Friday. Also we have our Parent Open Morning and Colour Run Day on Friday 2nd September, so add these events to your calendar and we look forward to seeing you on the day, we will also be running a canteen Take Over on this day to help raise the funds to cover the costs of our Decodable readers.

With regards to assemblies and the changes made from this term, I apologise for not communicating the change earlier and thank you to those families who have spoken to me directly regarding the change. We have moved assembles to three times per term in a hope to increase parent attendance, make the earning of a certificate more special to the students and increasing the time we spend on curriculum delivery. Please come and speak to me if you would like to discuss this further.

This week I have included a photo of another of my Grandsons (I have four), this little one is Myles and he is a little over one year old. He loves talking to his Nana over Facetime and giving me virtual kisses on the screen.

God Bless.

Miss Melanie

This Week in Religion

Congratulations to our candidates who participated in the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday 23rd August - Jeraya, Jayde, Tannah and Elijah, they were well prepared by Miss Chelsea and the evening ran very smoothly. Also thank you to Miss Jocelyn for her support during the preparation of the candidates. Monsignor Paul officiated with the support of Father Salentinus to hear the students' confessions and this was followed by the students placing a rock they had decorated into the fire pit where their sins were burned and released. Thank you to the families and staff for attending this special evening.
