Tiger Paws Parent Newsletter

This is a bi-weekly update for Ballard Hudson parents.

Welcome Back to BHMS

The first couple of days have been exciting at BHMS. We welcomed a new principal, new faculty and staff members, and new students to our building. We are off to a great start and we know that this school year is going to be our best yet. Our principal, Dr. Nash and our staff has worked all summer long to plan for this school year with one goal in mind... reconnecting the village. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child and we want to be an integral part of your village. Thank you for entrusting your child to us each day.

BHMS Goals for 2019-2020

  • Improve the climate and culture at BHMS.
  • Increase student attendance at BHMS.
  • Increase student achievement at BHMS.
  • Decrease student discipline issues at BHMS.

Parents, we ask that you assist us in reaching these goals by ensuring that your child comes to school everyday unless he/she is truly sick, reviewing our student handbook and reinforcing the expectations that we have for your child, and reviewing your child's agenda each night to ensure that homework assignments are complete. In addition, we ask that you have your child read 20 minutes each night at home. Increasing our students' reading and comprehension is a focus for the year and the more students are exposed to text the better their literacy skills will become. We have attached a copy of the student handbook and class schedule for you to review.

Thank you in advance for your assistance in helping us meet these goals.
