HAPPY SPRING BREAK!
We made it to the end of 3rd quarter and we are so proud of our students. Third quarter is a fast 8 weeks, with intensive learning, growth and assessment. As we prepare for 4th quarter, we look ahead to the upcoming AASA state tests for 3rd-6th grade, as well as 4th quarter projects and enrichment in preparing for the next school year.
We have several events happening in 4th quarter, beginning with a NEW exciting assembly kicking off the Monday we return from break. All students will get to experience the powerful, positive messaging and energy of the BMX Perfection on Wheels stunt team on Monday, March 20th! We have 2 different assemblies (K-3 @ 9:00AM, 4-6 @ 10:00AM) that will run outside, complete with BMX trick bikes, looped in with talks about positive behavior, kindness, anti-bullying and perseverance.

As a reminder, GRADES CLOSED TODAY! Students and parents can check final grades in PowerSchool. It is expected that families are checking their PowerSchool grades weekly to ensure all assignments are completed and up-to-date with work and retakes. Report cards will be sent home after Spring Break.
BIRTHDAY TREATS & SNACKS UPDATE
Due to the health and safety of all students, and in effort to adhere to the Safe Snack guidelines and the Smart Snacks health guidelines, Legend Springs will no longer be accepting outside birthday treats in the classrooms. We have had a significant amount of treats coming in that are not nut-free, produced in a nut free facility and/or do not follow the Safe Snack guidelines. As of March 20, 2023, ONLY NON-FOOD ITEMS (pencils, stickers, pop-its, etc) will be accepted if you choose to bring in birthday bags.
If you would like to provide birthday snacks, families have the option to purchase the DVUSD Birthday Bucket. DVUSD cafeteria provides a birthday bucket with a variety of options for the entire class. You can fill out the request form for a birthday bucket and work directly with our Cafeteria Manager Mr. Josh Singleton to arrange these birthday treats. We also have copies of the form in the front office.
(link order form for all birthday buckets)
