How is MDMA abused?
MDMA is abused mostly when people take more than one pill at a time. Which is called "bumping". Many teens use bumping as something to fit in with. Because abusing this drug is "cool" to some teens, others take it as well to either fit in, or feel better about themselves.
How does MDMA affect the brain?
MDMA takes 15 minutes to reach the brain. It produces it's effects by increasing the activity of the chemical messengers brain cells such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine.
What are other effects of MDMA?
Some other effects of the drug MDMA are :
-muscle tension
-teeth clenching
-faintness
-chills/sweating
-blurred vision
-nausea
-high body temperature
Can you get addicted or die from MDMA?
Researchers are not sure if you can get addicted to MDMA, but some users do experience withdrawal, dependence, and tolerance. Yes, you can die from the drug since it causes problems to the body's ability to regulate temperature.
