Mr. Morris's History Haven
ODD FACTS in HISTORY
*ODD HISTORICAL FACTS- there have been so many cool events in history that make great conversation starters (HINT: Use with your students) or at the very least, could help you in armchair jeopardy!!!
FACT: In Ancient China, doctors could only receive payment if their patient was cured. If their health deteriorated that would have to pay the patient!
Questions for discussion: How different would health care be today if that existed everywhere? What would that do to the insurance industry? What about incurable illnesses that doctors really just get the patient more time?
FACT: It has been calculated that in the last 3,500 years, there have only been 230 years of peace throughout the “civilized world.”
Questions for discussion: Can we achieve “World Peace” with numbers like that? What would it take to achieve that? Education, Social Media Campaigns, or “peace” through dictatorship?

CAPITAL ACADEMY EXCITING EDUCATIONAL MOMENTS with Ms. Guzman
My "Exciting Educational Moments" board allows me to identify students who have accomplished any of the following:
*Students who have gone above and beyond in their work.
*Students who, until now, have been doing minimal or no work.
*Students who take a lesson or topic, and ask a thought provoking question.
*Students who think outside the box.
*Students who independently help a peer with a lesson.
Exciting Educational Moments is also a:
*Behavior Mod Board
*Reward for positive educational moments that occur throughout my classes.
*Motivator
*Incentive
*Visual way to recognize students for doing something in a particular class that makes me "excited educationally".
This is a way for students to recognize and understand their positive accomplisments.
