The Storm Forecast
November 20, 2022
Dear parents, guardians, and students,
On Friday we held our schoolwide Day of Gratitude- a day where every class's lesson focused on thanksgiving or gratitude. Thanks to our families and staff, we held a Thanksgiving meal for our entire student body, followed by words of gratitude and letters of gratitude for every single student. It was a special day and it was heartwarming to see the community that we have built over the last few months.
As we approach the holiday season, beginning with Thanksgiving, I want to thank you for entrusting us with your children, for believing in us and what we are trying to create for your children and your families, and for your continued support. I am grateful for all of our families, our students and staff.
I wish you all a beautiful and happy Thanksgiving.

New building updates
Dear San Jose Cecil parents,
October has come and gone and with it more questions have arisen about the move into our new home so I want to take this opportunity to share with you the latest information regarding the move to our new campus.
As most of you are aware, the supply chain shortages created by the COVID-19 pandemic affected the construction industry nationwide. The greatest impact on our school’s construction was the pandemic backorders on HVAC units (air conditioners). Hurricane Ian closed the construction site for a few days, however, Southcrest Construction has continued steadily working on the remaining construction while awaiting the HVAC units.
As of today, we are looking at a projected opening date in late January. We will finish out the semester and the month of January at the Wesconnett location. I am in communication with San Jose Schools leadership and working on the transition plan for our move to the FSCJ Cecil location. I will keep all of you updated with dates, processes and when opening ceremonies will take place.
I want to thank you for your patience with this process- if you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to our superintendent, Ryan Rewey at ryan.rewey@sanjoseschools.org and he will be happy to help answer any questions you may have.
I am looking forward to opening our new home to our students and your families. I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season.
Michelle Knapp
We are grateful for our school...
